Charlie Hosch Jr. who stage name is "ChuckaLuck", is known as the great "Chicago Windy City Bass Legend". 

His introduction to music came early when his father gave him an acoustic guitar at age 11. As a teen, he performed with several bands and clubs throughout the Chicago area. From there, ChuckaLuck started growing more as a musician and as an artist.

 

In the late 70s, he worked in the studio alongside producer and arranger Tom Tom Washington, Maurice White of Earth Wind & Fire, then toured and recorded with The Emotions. In the 80s Chuckaluck became a part of Chicago's R&B scene, working with the Chilites, The Dells, Walter Jackson and Gene Chandler.

 

By the end of the decade, he returned to his Blues Roots playing with Bo Diddley, Sugar Blue, BB King, James Cotton, Pinetop Perkins, Sunnyland Slim, Junior Wells, Buddy Guy, Billy Branch, Little Milton, Otis Clay and Chris Jagger (brother of Rolling Stones Mick Jagger).

 

ChuckaLuck is fluent in all idioms of music, having played with veterans like Pop Staples and The Staples Singers, Jamaican Reggae artist John Holt, Famoudou Don Moye of The Art Ensemble of Chicago, African artists Suso Foday (Mali) and Mantulia Mandingo (Zaire). 

ChuckaLuck, Famoudou Don Moye, and his band The Art Ensemble of Chicago opened up for Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter during a tour abroad at The Sun Percussion Summitt.

 

ChuckaLuck is an artist with a vision, a mentor, and a strong believer in musical integrity and artistic expression. He has met the Millennium by producing his own compositions. He is the Head Music Director for his Management company AMP Life Productions LLC  a Film and Entertainment production company, that is based out if Los Angeles, Chicago Illinois and Cincinnati Ohio.

ChuckaLuck will continue to serve this mission for generations to come he also created Basstribes Online Magazine to document the contribution of African-American bass players in the music industry.
